Göcek Bays

After completing the international IYT sailing training and obtaining the IYT license, sailing in the crystal-clear waters of Göcek is everyone’s dream. Renting a boat for an isolated boat vacation will be an enjoyable experience for both you and your loved ones. As One Yacht, we offer sailing training in Göcek, which is one of the most popular locations in our country for boat rentals and boat vacations. Especially for captains who have recently obtained their IYT license, Göcek is a safe and comfortable location for sailing, where they can gain experience and enjoy the difference of being the captain of their own boat. To maximize the enjoyment of a boat vacation, proper route planning is of critical importance. Based on the experience we have gained over the years in these bays, we have determined a sample route for you. Let’s set sail!
DAY 1: You can settle into the boat in the afternoon at Fethiye Yes Marina. The travel program is set, and a briefing is given on the technical details of the boat. Meanwhile, port formalities and shopping are completed. Once the formalities and paperwork are done, you can leave the port. Your first stop could be Boynuz Bükü (36°42’42″N – 028°53’48″E) by sailing toward the Göcek Bays. There are daily trees toward the end of the bay, a stream flows into the sea from this point, and the depth is quite shallow in the inner parts of the bay. You can moor at the pier of the restaurant in the bay or spend the night anchored off the shore.
DAY 2: Yassıca Islands & Sıralı Bük Harbor (36°42’36″N – 028°56’00″E)
After leaving Boynuz Bükü, you can set sail for the Yassıca Islands, where you can spend the afternoon. To the south lies Zeytinli Island, covered with tall olive trees. There are safe spots along the northern coast of Zeytinli Island where you can anchor. The small cove on the north side of Şeytanlı Island is a beautiful spot in good weather. Both the seabed and the atmosphere are worth seeing. After noon, you can start a pleasant voyage to Sıralıbük (36°40’42” N – 028°52’00″E), where you will spend the night.
DAY 3: Aquarium Bay & Küçük Sarsala (36°39’00″N – 028°54’42”E)
Aquarium Bay is one of the must-see places where you can take a swimming break on Domuz Island. There is a shipwreck in the inner part of the bay where you can snorkel. You can depart from Aquarium Bay, which is also a stop for daily tour boats, around noon. You can start sailing towards Küçük Sarsala Bay (036°39’42″N – 028°51’29″E). You can dock at the restaurant in Küçük Sarsala Bay and stay there overnight.
DAY 4: Kuyrucak Bay & Hamam Bay (36°38’28″N – 028°52’00″E)
In Kuyrucak Bay, there are hills overlooking the Göcek Bays 200 meters above the beach. The view from the hills, where Lycian tombs are also located, is magnificent. You can spend a pleasant time in the sheltered bay. In the afternoon, you can move on to Hamam Bay (36°39’36″N – 028°51’00″E), where you can anchor or moor at the pier of the restaurant located in the bay. The most attractive part of the bay is undoubtedly the Sunken Bathhouse located within it. You can spend enjoyable hours snorkeling and taking nature walks in the area.
DAY 5: Yavansu Bay & Göbün / Dış Göbün (36°38’12″N – 028°52’42″E)
In Yavansu Bay (36°38’12″N – 028°52’42″E), a large white bird shape made of stones on the shore seems to be drinking water from the sea, which is why it is also called Martı Bay (Seagull Bay). Anchoring at night in the open bay on the southern side is not very suitable. Therefore, it is one of the beautiful spots where you can spend the midday hours enjoying the breeze and clean sea during the daytime. In the evening, you can dock at the pier in Göbün Bay (36°38’42″N – 028°53’36″E) and spend the night at the restaurant. In the early morning hours, you can take a nature walk toward the upper part of the bay and watch the sunrise over Fethiye Bay. Another option is Dış Göbün (36°38’42″N – 028°54’00″E). You can reach Dış Göbün by passing through the narrow strait. It has unique natural beauty and places where you can anchor. If the weather and sea conditions are suitable for anchoring, you can also choose Dış Göbün Bay as an alternative for accommodation.
DAY 6: Tersane Island & Taşyaka Bay (36°40’30″N – 028°54’54″E)
At Tersane Island (36°40’30″N – 028°54’54″E), which has two separate locations known as Summer Harbor and Winter Harbor, you can anchor on either side and spend your day there. In the afternoon, you can head toward Taşyaka Bay (36°41’44”N – 028°52’12″E). The bay is also known as Bedri Rahmi Bay because of Bedri Rahmi Eyüpoğlu, who painted a work depicting six animals with a “fish” motif on a rock in the bay. The tombs of the Lycian kings are located on the pine-covered hills, and you can enjoy a nature walk to these ancient monuments and take in the scenery. You can anchor in the bay or spend the night at the restaurant located within the bay.
DAY 7: On your way back to Fethiye Yes Marina, you can stop at Göcek Island or At Bükü (36°43’30″N – 028°54’48″E), which are very close to Göcek and are two alternative locations where you can take a swimming break. You can return to Fethiye Yes Marina at noon to hand over the boat.
Göcek is ideal for sailing. You can sail between the bays as you wish. You can easily stock up on supplies from the market boats that circulate in Göcek.
