If your goal is to specialize in sailing yachts, sailing training will suffice. However, if you want to gain extensive yachting experience and maritime knowledge and skills, yachting training will be more comprehensive. Sailing training is training conducted exclusively on sailing yachts. Motor yachts or motorboats are not included in this training. Sailing training covers training conducted specifically on sailing yachts. Sailing training teaches skills such as how to use sails on simple 6.5-meter boats, wind direction, maneuvering sailboats, sailing with a sailboat, adjusting sails correctly, and how to use wind direction. Yachting training, on the other hand, is a more comprehensive training program on 10-15-meter boats, covering yacht use and maritime knowledge. It covers yacht management, safety, maritime rules, route planning, ship equipment, maneuvers, engine use, and yacht maintenance. This maritime knowledge applies to both sailing yachts and motor yachts. You will learn about motor yacht use and the engine, electrical, and navigation systems of yachts. Yachting education programs typically include a broader certification program and may include yacht captain or yacht master certifications issued by international maritime organizations. One Yacht’s yachting education programs also include the internationally recognized IYT certification.
