Historic Ships: The Kocabaş 1 Ship
Historic Ships: The Kocabaş 1 Ship

During our training sessions in Küçükyalı, we will talk about the story of a tugboat that many of us pass by without noticing in our daily lives. Kocabaş1 was first built in 1947 at the famous Henry Robb shipyard in Scotland. In 1987, it was purchased for use in STFA port construction services. From there, it was transferred to its current owner, Teknik Dalış Hizmetleri.
Despite being 73 years old, it is still functional, unmodified, and its superstructure is preserved as it was. The number of ships still in use for their original purpose after so many years is very rare worldwide.
Kocabaş 1 is the second oldest ship in our country, after Savarona, that is still in service for its original purpose.
