Don't Let the Heat Get You Down!

With the arrival of summer in our country, rising temperatures are affecting beachgoers both positively and negatively. With the start of the holiday season, sailing to the most beautiful bays of the Aegean and Mediterranean by renting a boat and swimming in those beautiful bays is one of the most enjoyable aspects of sailing, but there may also be times when we are not on the boat solely for vacation purposes. In such cases, we have compiled a list of important points to consider to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our boat, especially from UV rays.
- Be sure to keep your sunshade open on the boat.
- Stay in the shade between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- Wear long-sleeved clothing, preferably with sun protection.
- Get up early.
- If you need to sail for a long time, choose to sail at night.
- Be sure to apply high protection sunscreen to your skin.
- Sunlight is also harmful to your eyes. Be sure to wear sunglasses.
- Take a break at noon.
- Try to do outdoor activities in the morning and late afternoon.
- Remember that you will be more affected by UV rays when swimming in the sea.
- Wear accessories such as hats and bandanas to protect your head from the sun.
