IYT Yachtmaster Coastal (Yachtmaster Coastal Skipper Training)
Learn the intricacies of recreational coastal navigation!
At the end of this training, you can become an amateur coastal captain.
To start this training, you must have bareboat training knowledge and a total of 800 NM/30 days of sea experience and 1 night of sailing. This training is an advanced yachting program for those who want to take their maritime knowledge and captaincy skills to the next level. After obtaining your Yachtmaster Coastal Sail license, you can operate your vessel and conduct night navigation within the coverage area of VHF channels and within visual range, provided that you remain no more than 60 nautical miles from the coast.
In order to obtain and use this license, you must have completed the IYT International Bareboat Skipper Training course. To obtain this certificate, you must also have spent 30 days at sea, covered 800 NM, and kept watch for 12 hours at night.
Practical and theoretical training is provided.
Prior to training, training manuals and course content are shared.
Practical training consists of 36 hours / 6 lessons / 6 hours of training at sea per day.
Theoretical training consists of 12 hours of classroom instruction.

Our practical training sessions on board the boat are planned for a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 people (excluding the instructor).
The International Yacht Training (IYT) certificate is accredited by 58 countries around the world and is valid for sailing in those countries. In the European Union, it can be used in Croatia and Greece.
You can use boats up to 78f/24 meters.

To listen to the online training courses that are registered, log in to our website at https://oneyacht.org/en/my-account/ register, and notify the One Yacht training administrator of this information. This will enable the relevant files to be made available for use. Once they are available, log in to the website, click on the My Profile section in the My Account tab, and you will be able to access the training courses available to you in the Assigned Training section on this page.
The IYT Yachtmaster Coastal license will be issued with the approval of the instructor.
The 40-question exam, which is part of the training, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesdays following the last practical training date at the Istanbul, Izmir, and Fethiye One Yacht offices. The IYT license fee is paid on the day of the exam.
Important Information: If you own your own boat, you must also obtain an Amateur Sailor’s Certificate to sail in Turkish waters. This certificate is issued by the Ministry of Transport. https://adbs.uab.gov.tr/login>
To apply for a license, you must register on the IYT website and obtain a 6-digit ID via email. This ID is then sent to the One Yacht training officer. You can complete the registration process at the bottom of the page containing the link below. https://www.iytworld.com/students/
You must have a KMT (Short Range Radio Operator Certificate) or VHF to apply for a license. These certificates can be obtained from the Ministry of Transport or One Yacht office for 75 euros. In order to obtain and use the certificate, it is mandatory to have IYT International Bareboat Skipper training.
To obtain this certificate, it is also necessary to spend 30 days at sea, cover 800 NM, and have kept watch for 12 hours at night. The experience gained must be declared.
You can make your payments in cash, by bank transfer/EFT, or by credit card. Fifty percent of the payment is due on the day of registration, and the remaining 50% is due on the first day of training.
Participants in the training are required to wear white-soled sports shoes or sailing shoes, clothing suitable for sun, rain, and wind, and sailing gloves.
